This course teaches students what weaving is and how to weave. Mrs Hoover will take them step by step through the weaving project so that students will be able to complete a weaving using a CD as a loom.
Materials: CD, Yarn, embroidery needle, scissors, masking tape.

I teach elementary art in a Texas public school. The lessons I am sharing are the ones that I use in my classroom so that you can do them at home, at your school, wherever you need an art teacher!
A CD as a loom
Students learn about warps and looms and wefts. They create a loom on an old CD.
Designing the pattern
Students choose different colors and textures and decide on the pattern they want to create with the yarn. Often students add other items like different strings or even beads and feathers.
